On Saturday, June 7, 2025, the Alaska Woodturners Assoc. will hold a class on how to make a ½” bowl gouge from rough materials to a finished and ready to use tool. During this class you will turn your own custom handle, install a ½’ Quick Release unit, sold by Jimmy Clewes, and learn how to shape and sharpen a blunt ended ½” bowl gouge blank made by Thompson Tools. During this class John will also cover how to correct some common bowl gouge sharpening mistakes. This class is suitable for almost any skill level turner.
