Bowls for Beans

Each year, the Alaska Woodturners Association supports Bean’s Café by donating hundreds of bowls for their fundraising events. Each year, the Alaska Woodturners Association partners with Bean’s Café in support of Bean’s fundraising events. Bean’s Cafe is a local non-profit dedicated to fighting hunger and one of their biggest fundraisers is the annual Empty Bowl Project in which attendees fill up on soup and cornbread while selecting a handcrafted bowl to take home. Each year, the Alaska Woodturners donate 350-450 hand turned bowls to Bean’s and their participation has been credited with helping to revitalize this event.
