2025 Meeting Schedule

All of our meetings take place on the first Saturday of the month (with some exceptions for holidays). For 20 minutes prior to each meeting, participants can bring in their woodturning tools for sharpening, and get tips on sharpening their own.  There will then be a short business meeting followed by an approximately 90 minute long woodturning demonstration.

AWA Meeting Schedule for 2025

• November 1, 2025  General Meeting and Demonstration, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, @ Glass Sash & Doors.  Our demonstrator will be John Lane. John will demonstrate how to make a Birdhouse Christmas Tree ornament plus as many other different ornaments as time permits. Everything John will be demonstrating can be turned on any size lathe and can easily be turned by all members regardless of skill level. And just like the October demonstration these ornaments can be made from small scrap pieces of wood. The only downside is if you do decide to make one or more of these ornaments for yourself, you better plan to make 4 or 5, because as soon as your family and friends see them, they will be asking for some for themselves. Christmas tree ornaments make great gifts and often become family heirlooms. John will have several examples of finished ornaments on display that he makes and sells at local craft shows.
