AWA Exhibit at the International Gallery of Contemporary Art
Club treasurer Mark Figura and his wife Elise submitted a proposal for a show of turned art objects to be held at the International Gallery of Contemporary Art at 427 D Street. The proposal was accepted and the club’s exhibition is scheduled for the month of November, 2022. This is an outstanding opportunity for members to showcase their work and if they wish, to offer it up for sale as well (the gallery keeps 50% of the proceeds). We are looking for unique, unusual, beautiful, or simply weird wood turnings.
In addition to individual works, there will be at least one collaborative piece involving a large number of spheres from about 2” to 7” in diameter. The spheres can be turned from any type of wood and finished in any desired manner. So please start thinking about pieces you either already have on hand or have yet to create, consider turning a few spheres for the collaborative work, and stay tuned for additional information as the date of the exhibit draws nearer. Items will be collected in October in preparation for the November event.
