My daughter got married in 2019 and these are party favors made for attendees at her reception. Turning a large number of pens and bottle stoppers in a short time frame convinced me not to become a production woodturner.
What better way to commemorate 2020 than with a Coronavirus Christmas ornament? I made this for my niece who is a high school biology teacher and has a sense of humor.
I was inspired to attempt making twig pots by Paul Russell's article in the October 2020 edition of American Woodturner. The wood is twisted juniper that was collected in Montana by my dad in 2006, not long before he passed away.

Building scale model cannons that actually fire is a fun hobby. Casting metal barrels from turned wood patterns, turning wheel parts and getting everything to fit is a big challenge. I enjoy the combination of working with wood and metal in building a cannon.

A bowl of fruit. The bowl is made from madrone and fruit was made from various species of wood. Some were dyed and some were left in natural color.
